Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026 — added Cookiebot as our cookie consent platform.

Who is responsible for your data

Plainstack is operated from Spain. Full legal identification of the site owner (name, tax ID, registered address) is published in our Legal Notice, as required under Spanish law (LSSI-CE). Because the operator is established in the European Union, we apply GDPR-standard data protection practices and rights to all visitors, regardless of where you're located — not only to visitors in the EU.

What we collect

Plainstack collects only the data operationally necessary to run the site. At the time of writing, that is limited to standard web server logs (such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, and referring site) used to keep the site secure and understand which content is useful.

Cookies

Plainstack uses Cookiebot, a cookie consent management platform, to ask for your permission before any non-essential cookie is set. The first time you visit, Cookiebot shows a banner letting you accept or decline cookies by category — necessary, preferences, statistics, and marketing — and keeps that categorization current by scanning the site. Cookiebot itself sets one cookie to remember your choice.

As of this writing, Plainstack doesn't yet run analytics or advertising — Cookiebot is in place ahead of that, so consent is requested correctly from day one instead of being retrofitted later. This section will be updated with the specific additional cookies in use as soon as any are added, before that change goes live.

Third-party data processors

Cookiebot (operated by Usercentrics) is our cookie consent provider — see Cookiebot's own privacy policy for how it processes data related to your consent choice. Any other current or future third-party service that processes visitor data on our behalf (such as a hosting provider, analytics provider, or ad network) will be named here, along with a link to that provider's own privacy policy, before it goes live.

Your rights under GDPR

As the data controller, we honor the following rights for anyone whose data we process, regardless of location: access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on our contact page or in our Legal Notice. If you're not satisfied with our response, EU/EEA residents have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).

Your choices

You can review or change your cookie choice at any time through Cookiebot's own consent interface, or by clearing your browser's cookies for this site to see the banner again. You can also use your browser's settings to block cookies and tracking generally — doing so will not prevent you from reading any content on this site.
